Helping Your Child Learn at Home

Explore practical strategies every parent can use!

How can you help your child learn at home without stress, conflict, or overwhelm?

Join CSPD’s Learning Outcomes team for a practical parent session focused on simple, realistic ways families can support learning at home, from primary through to secondary school.

You’ll hear practical ideas around:

  • study and homework routines
  • helping children retain information
  • reading and learning habits
  • understanding some of the teaching approaches used in today’s CSPD classrooms

We’ll also briefly unpack the “why” behind some of the changes happening in schools and explain how parents and schools can work together to support student success.

Whether your child is in primary or secondary school, this session will provide practical takeaways you can start using at home straight away.

 When  Tuesday, 9 June
 Time  7:00pm - 8:30pm (Doors open at 6:30pm)
Location  Penola Catholic College, Penrith, 75 Mackellar St, Emu Plains
Refreshments  Light refreshments will be provided.

This FREE event is open to all Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) parents and carers and is a chance to connect with other parents and learn more about the FPC.

It was an early start to the day as we began our adventure to Canberra. The children were in great spirits and excited for the journey ahead. We acknowledge that it was an early morning for our parents as well, and we thank them for their well wishes, support, and encouraging words at drop-off this morning. We look forward to sharing updates from our adventure throughout the day.

Congratulations to our Year 6 students who debated against St Madeleine’s today on the topic ‘Learning a second language in Primary School should be mandatory’. Well done to our negative team who were victorious and our affirmative team did our school proud, but didn’t come away with the win today.
