A report on the "Buddies Group" from Publishing Team members Nicholas and Jason
Year 6 run the “Buddy Group” every lunchtime. Our dedicated Year 6 group are always helping the Kindergarten children to make new friends through this activity. They play many fun and active games such as foam ball bowling; going across stepping stones; a challenge of skipping; and much more. There are seven Year 6 children working with them each day, and 14 in the whole group. The Kindergarten children are laughing and smiling every day because these Year 6 children put so much effort into making lunchtime fun. These Kindergarten children rely on the Year 6’s to welcome them into Saint Paul’s.

They loved sharing their knowledge of energy production, forces and sustainability, and showing off all the hard work and creativity that went into their projects. Celebrating 40 years of Voice of Youth and the power of student voice
Six Year 6 students from 58 Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) Primary schools came together at St John XXIII Catholic College Stanhope Gardens on 22 September for the Voice of Youth Grand Final, showcasing their public speaking skills through a series of thoughtful and engaging speeches.

Miss Gray and some of our Year 5 and 6 students had a wonderful time taking part in the Socktober Launch! 🧦⚽ The day was a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness about people experiencing disadvantage and to encourage our students to think about the importance of compassion, service and social justice. Our students connected with teams from across CSPD, participated in a range of activities, created their very own Sockballs and wrote prayers for hope for those in need. It was a meaningful day filled with faith, fun and advocacy, reminding us that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. 💙

You might have noticed some changes in our social media! St Paul’s have recently made a few changes to the way we share photos and videos of the children online. While you may see a few more photos from a distance or from behind please know that this is all part of our commitment to keeping the children safe and protecting their privacy online. 🏙️ Numeracy Enrichment – Mathematicians Become Architects! 📐 Our Numeracy Enrichment students stepped into the role of architects this week! Students were challenged to design an apartment between 50 and 70 m², carefully considering room sizes, layout and functionality. They then explored how their designs could be translated, reflected and rotated. To finish, students presented their designs to Miss Paul and Miss Deloso, who had the difficult job of selecting their favourite design! 🏆 Next step: students will use their chosen design to create an entire floor of an apartment complex using transformations. But there’s a last-minute twist from the developer… one apartment must be dilated by a scale factor of 2! 😲🏢 We can’t wait to see how our young architects solve their next challenge! 📐
