Dance students impressed the crowd with a range of dazzling performances
Hundreds of students from 35 primary and secondary Catholic schools from across the Diocese showcased their creative talents in a series of music, dance and strings performances throughout June, culminating in the ‘Best Of’ performance on 23 June
The showcase events demonstrated the high calibre of choral, music and dance work from Catholic schools, under the Parramatta Diocese’s creative and performing arts initiative, CAPTIVATE.The program provides learning and performance experiences for students, as well as builds expertise and a sense of community across the system. CAPTIVATE is very popular with five new schools joining the program since last year.

Today, Mrs Sargent and Mrs Henebery held an enrichment numeracy group to provide greater extension and challenge through the depth, breadth and pace of instruction. This trial will be held over a five week period. This group will meet weekly to engage with rigorous mathematical problems and share their solutions using mathematical skills of communication, reasoning and flexibility. We are so proud of the children's enthusiasm for learning today, and their willingness to take on challenge and share solutions respectfully with each other.

β½οΈ Yesterday, our Year 4 students had an absolute ball hosting their very own World Cup! ππ Although their Soccer Gala Day was unfortunately postponed, it certainly didn't dampen their spirits. Instead, our students took to the field with enthusiasm, teamwork and plenty of determination as they created their own exciting tournament. It was wonderful to see everyone displaying great sportsmanship, encouraging one another and having fun! πβ½

π What an incredible morning at our Year 3 Showcase of Talent! π Our Year 3 students wowed us with an outstanding display of confidence, creativity and courage as they shared their talents with one another. The audience was treated to a wonderful variety of performances, from hilarious comedy acts and energetic dance routines to beautiful piano recitals and captivating theatrical performances. Every student brought something unique to the stage, making it a joyful celebration of the many talents within our Year 3 community. We are so proud of every student who had the courage to perform. Last Friday night, our Year 5 and 6 students as well as staff took part in the Winter Stay Out in support of St Vincent de Paul. Through this experience, participants gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness while raising awareness and support for those in need.
